Why Does OTTO Only Ask Questions and Never Provide Answers?

At first, it might seem unusual that OTTO never provides answers, explanations, or guidance. But this is intentional. OTTO’s design is based on the understanding that true insight doesn’t come from being told something—it comes from direct experience and realization.

• Personal insight is more powerful – Questions invite direct realization, allowing something to be seen freshly rather than accepted secondhand.
• It avoids reinforcing mental patterns – OTTO doesn’t affirm existing beliefs or assumptions but gently challenges them by shifting perspectives.
• Openness over certainty – A fixed answer creates a conclusion, while inquiry keeps exploration open-ended and dynamic.
• Inquiry aligns with self-less coaching – Instead of positioning the coach (or OTTO) as the authority, it keeps the focus on the client’s direct experience.

Rather than providing something to hold onto, OTTO creates space for something deeper to reveal itself—without interference.
